SWISSmag 01 – Peter Zumthor

The first introductory article for this magazine about Switzerland is about one of the most important contemporary architects – at least in my opinion. It is about Peter Zumthor, who began his career as a carpenter and later as a conservationist architect. Authenticity and certain material fetishism are typical attributes of his works.

For an introduction I chose a few buildings that represent his work is very well. It is the Bruder Klaus Chapel, Vals spa building and in Kolumba Art Museum in Cologne.
I will be featuring other better or and less-known Swiss architects and their works in future articles.
